OpenFX (Red Envelope Delta Inc) Raises $94M
— Real-Time Cross-Border Payment Infrastructure for the AI Economy
The global forex market processes more than $200 trillion
annually — yet its settlement infrastructure is largely unchanged from decades
ago: slow, expensive, and opaque. OpenFX, the fintech infrastructure company
operating under the legal entity Red Envelope Delta Inc, closes $94 million to
deploy a 24/7, real-time cross-border payment network that is 99% faster and
90% cheaper than correspondent banking rails, targeting Southeast Asia and the
AI-era global economy.

Faction: fintech-focused fund from Lightspeed Venture Partners, specialists
in financial infrastructure. M13: Los Angeles-based consumer and enterprise
venture fund. Northzone: European VC with a strong fintech portfolio (backed
Klarna, iZettle). Pantera Capital: one of the earliest and largest dedicated
crypto and blockchain-focused investment firms — its participation alongside
traditional VC signals OpenFX's use of blockchain/stablecoin-based settlement
rails in its architecture. The combination of traditional fintech VCs and
crypto-native capital reflects OpenFX's hybrid architecture. |

DEAL OVERVIEW
OpenFX (operating
legally as Red Envelope Delta, Inc.) raised $94 million on March 31, 2026 from
a syndicate including Lightspeed Faction, M13, Northzone, and Pantera Capital.
The company will use the capital to accelerate growth in Southeast Asia — connecting
domestic real-time payment rails that are individually excellent within their
home markets but stubbornly disconnected from each other across borders — and
to expand its proprietary multi-layer liquidity architecture to additional G20
FX pairs and approximately 40 countries.
OpenFX's core
architectural innovation is what founder Prabhakar Reddy calls
"capital-efficient FX" — a network that optimizes for the elimination
of capital trapped in transit (funds sitting in nostro/vostro accounts at
correspondent banks for days during FX settlement) by using optimized real-time
routing and pre-positioned liquidity. The company's 99% faster / 90% cheaper
claims reflect the specific comparison to SWIFT-based correspondent bank wire
transfers, which remain the dominant mechanism for cross-border business
payments despite their well-known inefficiencies.
"The global forex market processes more than $200 trillion
annually, yet the core settlement infrastructure remains largely unchanged from
decades ago. We built OpenFX to deliver real-time, institutional-grade
liquidity that reduces risk, lowers costs and allows capital to move as
efficiently as the businesses behind it."
